IRT Group is one of Australia’s leading non-for-profit providers of senior’s lifestyle and care services, and has contributed to the sector since establishment in 1969. The company has 2100 staff, who provide services to over 10,300 seniors.
In 2013/14, a 3% increase in revenue was witnessed and resulted in an asset increase of $958 million.
The organisation has pledged to return $20 million in community dividends by 2020. IRT Group has set up the IRT Foundation as one of its complimentary businesses, with a key objective to assist the elderly in aging without barriers, and to adjust the perception Australians have towards aging.
Since 2009, $1.6 million has been awarded in research grants as a part of the organisation’s Research Grants Program. In 2015, IRT intends to provide $300,000 in grants under its Community Grants program.
Under their Education Advisory Council, which raised $10,000 in fundraising last year, the target is set to be raised by a further $10,000 this year.

These achievements have IRT Group recognised as an ABA100 Winner for Community Contribution in The Australian Business Awards 2015.
IRT Group Chief Executive Nieves Murray said she was delighted that IRT Group had been selected as an ABA100 Winner for Community Contribution in The Australian Business Awards 2015.
“Through IRT Foundation, we are achieving important societal benefits on behalf of older Australians,” Ms Murray said.
“Our activities have raised awareness of the need for age-friendly communities, and how they can be achieved through research and practical initiatives.”
