Heritage Bank is Australia’s largest customer owned bank with 100 branches and mini-branches in southern Queensland. Mortgage brokers also provide access to its range of services across Australia. Heritage’s online and mobile banking, telephone services and nationwide network of ATMs allow these customers to get the full benefit of deposits, lending and insurance products that are available to Heritage’s branch customers.

At Heritage Bank, the Human Resources team is integral to forming a vibrant organisational culture and ensuring people are at the heart of business decisions. As an ABA100 Winner of The Australian Business Awards, Heritage Bank has been honoured for their commitment to Human Resources Management.

In addition to the operational tasks such as payroll, recruitment, employment contracts, administration of incentive schemes and so on, the Human Resource team has a critical role in attracting, assessing and developing the talent strength of the organisation. This is achieved through initiatives such as the Universities of South Queensland Pathways Program, Heritage Training Services, Mentoring Program, Step Forward Program, Leadership Networking Breakfast Series, Team Leader Summit, and the management of a well-being portal. Feedback is valued at Heritage Bank with an Organisational Effectiveness Survey completed to measure staff satisfaction with 94% of staff participating in 2014. The reduction in staff turnover in recent years is a testament to the concerted effort by the Human Resources team to focus on and improve organisational culture.
