To enhance their network reliability, increase customer satisfaction and reduce reported electricity outages, CitiPower and Powercor launched Meter Outage Notification (MON) – a world first innovation that has systematically revolutionised the way unplanned interruptions to electricity supply are resolved. Leveraging the smart meter platform, MON enables earlier outage detection, quicker restoration of supply interruptions, real-time interactions with customers via SMS, Apps, and Twitter, resulting in annual savings to the business of $7 million.
